Weightlessness

The depiction of the body has historically been the center piece in painting. In the contemporary context, however, the body no longer presents itself as a narrative or symbolic figure, but as a territory for perceptual exploration.

In the Weightlessness Series, the suspended body disrupts this usual logic of movement and gravity. The floating effect introduces a pause within the image: an instant in which the bodily gesture is frozen and space loses its stability.

The intense monochromatic backgrounds reinforce this state of suspension. By eliminating spatial references, color becomes an enveloping environment where the figure loses its gravitational anchor.

Because of this, the painting becomes a space where the perception of the body is transformed and where the viewer can experience a sensation akin to weightlessness.
