Weightlessness

In the Ingravidez (Weightlessness) series, the body does not appear as a narrative or symbolic figure, but as a territory of perceptual exploration. As it floats, it disrupts the usual logic of movement and gravity and introduces a pause within the image: an instant in which the bodily gesture is held still and space loses its stability.

The intense monochromatic backgrounds reinforce this condition of suspension. By eliminating spatial references, colour becomes an enveloping environment in which the figure loses its gravitational anchor.

Painting thus becomes the place where the perception of the body is transformed: freed from gravity, the body becomes a metaphor for an expanded pause in the experience of time.
